Mike is grateful to call Maine home, and is excited about the chance to represent his community in the Maine Senate.  He considers himself blessed to have the life lessons and experience brought to him by his years in the military and his blended family of 5 children, including two adopted through the foster care system.

Mike is one of the young professionals who has moved to Maine for its wonderful quality of life, and hopes to foster a business atmosphere which will draw others like him to Maine, and decrease the Maine Brain Drain. 

Mike is an advocate for health choice, and in fact, chose to have his youngest son Sam delivered at home on Mussey Street in South Portland. 

Mike's background has shaped him to be a strong voice to guide Maine through the challenges that are impacting Maine families today.  He is an Air Force Veteran trusted to ensure communications for Air Force One and Special Air Missions. 

After leaving the military in 2004 he worked to secure communications for the U.S. State Departments overseas diplomatic posts.  The private sector rewarded his military training with the opportunity to lead in the work of streamlining IT processes for companies specializing in healthcare administration.

Experience and faith have imbued Mike with an appreciation for seizing on trust and confidence as tools for building on new ideas despite obstacles.
